Fradkov Mikhail Efimovich
Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies
Candidate of Economic Sciences
Mikhail Yefimovich Fradkov was born on September 1, 1950 in the Kuibyshev region in the family of an engineer.
Graduated from the Moscow Machine Tool Design Institute in 1972 and the Foreign Trade Academy in 1981. PhD in Economics, fluent in English and Spanish.
He worked in the USSR State Committee of Foreign Economic Relations, including abroad (India, Switzerland, and Belgium).
He also held the posts of Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade, Minister of Trade of the Russian Federation, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council, Director of the Federal Tax Police Service, Special Representative of Russian President to the European Union, has the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
2004-2007 – Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
2007-2016 – Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation.
From 2017 Mikhail Fradkov is a Chairman of the Board of Directors of the concern “Almaz-Antey”. Appointed Director of Russian Institute for Strategic Studies on January 4, 2017 by Presidential Decree.
