The United States at a Historical Crossroads: Domestic Problems and Global Ambitions

On June 18, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies hosted a conference entitled "The United States at a Historical Crossroads: Domestic Problems and Global Ambitions." 

The event was attended by N. M. Travkina, Chief Researcher at ISKRAN; D. P. Novikov, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations at the National Research University Higher School of Economics; A. A. Grishanov, Chief Researcher at the Center for Current International Problems at the Diplomatic Academy of MGIMO; A. I. Shumilin, Head of the Europe-Middle East Center and Chief Researcher at the Department of European Security at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences; A. R. Voitolovskaya, Head of the US Socio-Political Studies Group at the Center for North American Studies at IMEMO; P. E. Smirnov, Senior Researcher at the Department of Military-Political Studies at ISKRAN; R. R. Romanov, Lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages ​​at the Faculty of International Relations and Land Policy at the Russian State University for the Humanities; and  RISS experts. 

During the discussion, experts discussed US domestic political issues, the fundamental principles and key priorities of the White House's foreign policy and economics, as well as Washington's place and role in the emerging world order.
