On October 30, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies hosted a round table «The Economic Potential of Central Asia». The event was attended by Viacheslav Pak, head of the Economic Affairs Department of the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Shavkat Alimbekov, leading researcher at the International Institute for Central Asia, Azamat Sulimanov, head of Department of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as RISS experts.
During the detailed discussion, the round table participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to integration processes in the Central Asian region. The experts paid special attention to the prospects for the development of e-commerce in Central Asia, the transit potential of regional players, as well as the energy security challenges.
