Prospects for NATO Transformation in the New Geopolitical Environment

On July 16, a roundtable discussion on "Prospects for NATO Transformation in the New Geopolitical Environment" was held at the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies (RISS). Participants included Dmitry Danilov, Head of the European Security Department at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Vadim Kozyulin, Chief Researcher at the Center for Current International Problems at the Diplomatic Academy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Oleg Krivolapov, Head of the Military-Political Studies Department at the Institute for the USA and Canada (RAS); Dmitry Novikov, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at the Higher School of Economics; Dmitry Stefanovich, Research Fellow at the Center for International Security at the IMEMO, Russian Academy of Sciences; and RISS experts. 

The analysts discussed a wide range of topics related to NATO's transformation amid the profound crisis of the European security system. Particular attention was paid to analyzing the risks and threats to the interests of the Russian Federation related to the Alliance's destructive policies and militarization processes in Europe.
