Key Trends and Challenges in the Asia-Pacific Region

On February 25, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies hosted a roundtable discussion on "Key Trends and Challenges in the Asia-Pacific Region," chaired by RISS Director Mikhail Fradkov. Invited participants included Dmitry Mosyakov, Head of the Center for Southeast Asia, Australia, and Oceania at the Institute of Oriental Studies (IOS) of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Konstantin Asmolov, Leading Researcher at the Center for Korean Studies at the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia (ICCA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Ekaterina Astafieva, Academic Secretary of the Center for Southeast Asia, Australia, and Oceania at IOS RAS; Anna Voloshina, Researcher at the Center for the Study of Contemporary History of China and Its Relations with Russia at ICCA RAS; and Andrei Fedotov, Junior Researcher at the Center for Asian-Pacific Studies at IMEMO RAS.

During the roundtable, experts discussed the current situation in the region amid global turbulence, specifically examining the dynamics of events in Southeast Asia, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and prospects for cooperation between Asia-Pacific countries amid rising geopolitical tensions.
