Eastern Europe: Trapped in NATO's Militarization

The North Atlantic bloc continues to systematically increase its military presence in Eastern European countries. Sergei Yermakov, head of the Euro-Atlantic Center at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, notes that such persistence on NATO's part indicates both an intention to cultivate Russophobic sentiments through specific orders for its own military-industrial complex and a desire to demonstrate to the US the wisdom of continued involvement in the alliance's affairs.
