The main demographic challenges to the modern world order
On October 16, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies hosted a round table "Major Demographic Challenges to the Modern World Order." The event was attended by Deputy Executive Director of the Mendeleev Institute for Demographic Policy Ivan Sukhov, Senior Researcher at the Family Sociology Laboratory of St. Tikhon's Orthodox University for the Humanities Ivan Pavlyutkin and RISS experts.
The discussion covered a wide range of topics related to demographic changes taking place in different countries around the world, from Southeast Asia to North America. The consequences for ensuring dynamic socio-economic growth, improving the well-being of citizens, maintaining high labor resources, internal stability and preserving the civilizational code were analyzed. Differences in the approaches of states to the implementation of demographic policy were mentioned and the focus on preserving and strengthening their own demographic potential was noted.
