On April 29, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies held a round table on the topic of "Prospects for German Policy after the Bundestag Elections." The event was attended by Deputy Director and Head of the Center for German Studies at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladislav Belov, Head of the German Economy Sector and Leading Researcher at the Center for German Studies at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Kotov, Senior Researcher at the Institute of International Studies at MGIMO University of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Artem Sokolov, Researcher at the Sector for European Integration Problems at the Department of European Political Studies at IMEMO University of the Russian Academy of Sciences Maria Khorolskaya, as well as RISS experts.
During the discussion, the analysts discussed the prospects for the new German government, considered possible changes in Berlin's foreign and security policy, studied new aspects in transatlantic relations, and also gave a forecast regarding Germany's role in the growing militarization processes in Europe.
