Russian Institute for Strategic Studies

On April 24, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies hosted a conference on the topic “Development trends in global energy markets: opportunities and challenges for Russia.” The event was attended by representatives of such specialized structures as the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the National Energy Security Fund, the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Scientific Council for System Research in Energy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

During the conference participants discussed the prospects for the development of the fuel and energy sector of key international players in the context of increasing global competition and growing geopolitical tensions.
