Russian Institute for Strategic Studies

The Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) scientific journal "National Strategy Issues" covers the most important aspects of international politics and economics, the historical and socio-cultural development of Russia and other states, and analyzes the key challenges and threats to national security. The journal aims to inform Russian federal government bodies as well as the Russian and foreign publics with research and analytical findings of practical significance. The journal "National Strategy Issues" is focused on expert support for the development of a scientifically and principle-based State position on major strategic directions to ensure national security.

The main audience of the publication:

• highest bodies of state power in Russia;

• representatives of the diplomatic corps;

• top libraries;

• leading think tanks in Russia and abroad.

For publication in the journal, as the leading printed publication, RISS accept materials that are appropriate and corresponding to the main aims and objectives of the Institute:

• a) study of current international and political-military issues, military and industrial policy of leading countries, social-political and economic situation in neighboring countries, and definition of predictions of the development of the mutual relations of Russia with other states;

• b) assessment of challenges and threats to the security of Russia, analysis and valuation of targets and programs for the formation of state policy in the sphere of ensuring national security;

• c) study of the trends in the development of international economic relations, the conjuncture of the global market, and the economic relations of Russia;

• d) study of the socio-political situation and determination of the prospects for the socio-cultural development of Russia and other countries;

• e) analysis and prediction of the development of events in specific countries and regions, which can lead to crises, and the development of suggestions for the ways and means of their settlement.

In addition to the listed subjects for publication in the journal selectively accept materials relating to the fight against the falsification of Russian history, as well as articles related to political and religious aspects of the population issue. Under condition that the material meets the listed objectives in the opinion of the Editorial Board.

By the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the RISI scientific journal "National Strategy Issues" is included in the "List of leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences and for the degree of Doctor of Sciences should be published."
