The Problem of US-EU Relations in Light of the Trump Administration's New Strategic Guidelines
On February 13, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies held a roundtable discussion on "The Problem of US-EU Relations in Light of the Trump Administration's New Strategic Guidelines." Participants included Anton Grishanov, Chief Researcher at the Center for Contemporary International Studies at the Diplomatic Academy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO); Pavel Smirnov, Senior Researcher at the Department of Military-Political Studies at the Institute for the USA and Canada Studies (RAS); Olga Shishkina, Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of Russia at MGIMO; Yegor Sergeev, Associate Professor at the Department of World Economy and Senior Researcher at the Institute for International Studies at MGIMO; as well as RISS experts.
During the roundtable discussion, specialists explored the new configuration of US-EU interactions during Donald Trump's second term, examined the challenges of the transatlantic defense and security relationship, and analyzed the impact of the contradictions between Washington and Brussels on the transformation of the international relations system.
